Project One: Transitions

'This ones for you Milo'

Got my first uni brief 'Transitions' and had to shoot with b and w film... something i was never too confident with, mainly cos i've been taught the process really badly, in shit dark rooms, by shit tutors at every college i have been to in the past. BUT, went into it open minded and came out with these images...

I based my work on the transition of day to night and the magical almost eery feel the subdued moonlight gives along with street lamps and car lights.

I shot my first film and got one shot i was happy with ...

so had to go out and shoot a 36 exposure film at twilight in the rain whilst trying to balance an umbrella on my shoulder and judge exposure whilst trying to keep very still for the longer exposures.

spent like 2 and a half hours in the dark room basically vomiting photos in a mad last minute dash to get some prints before the deadline. anyway....
